Don’t Worry, You Can Still Get a Pink “Sweetheart” Ray Rice Jersey

We know what you’ve been worried about the last several days: have all those super cute Ray Rice jerseys — you know, the pink “sweetheart” ones — just flown right off the shelves?

For those of you who aren’t familiar, Ray Rice is the starting running back for the Baltimore Ravens. At least, he will be for most of the season, after he serves a two game suspension for violently beating his wife. Because we all know that knocking out a woman with an uppercut and dragging her senseless body out of a casino elevator is only about an eighth as bad as smoking weed.1

And in keeping with the NFL’s nuanced respect for women, the pink jerseys instituted recently by the NFL to remind women that the NFL wants money from cares about them too, are a great way to express your football loyalties as a female (or pink-loving male). Thankfully, Ray Rice is still a part of that list of athletes whom women can look up to and support by donning a sparkly jersey that proudly advertises the league’s 50s-era perceptions of gender norms and morality.

You can buy a Ray Rice pink jersey here (only $115 plus tax), but if your support belongs with a different team in the AFC North, you can also buy a pink Ben Roethlisberger jersey. Hats off to the NFL for always putting women and their interests first in all of their dealings.
