Names of Popular Bands from the Early 2000’s, as Remembered by My Grandma
With popular bands rising to superstardom one day then disappearing entirely the next, it can be difficult to keep track of music today. It can be even more difficult if you’re a grandma who doesn’t know anything about popular music. With this in my mind, we at National Ave thought it would be a great idea to ask my grandma to list some of the most popular bands from the mid-2000’s — the era of emo “rock” and instructional rap. Here are the results of this odd experiment.
- Falling Boys
- Outcasts. They must have been a sad music band. Did they get picked on? (OutKast)
- Black Olives
- Bye Bye Boys
- Five Clicks and a Shake of the Finger
- Spring Green!
- Blinking Numbers
- The Wheezing Boys
- Give Me My Nickel!
- Food Fights. I bet they were some real rascals. I remember back in my fourth grade class, we had this big food fight that took up the whole afternoon. Ms. Hampton tried to stop it, but we were having way too much fun! Then Tommy Johnson hit Sally Harkins in the head with his meatloaf and she had to go to the nurse. I was really worried, but she turned out okay. I wonder what she’s up to. Haven’t spoken in years. I guess that’s just how things go though.
- CORN! I know this one for sure!
- Hungry Jimmy
- God’s Children
- Little Rascals
- Hello Kitty
